If you want to display a limited amount of audio visual material, depending on their length you can still store it on your site. But with the accumulation of material that becomes rapidly tricky as you will need exponential storage capacities. Worse in the eventuality of success with hundreds of visitors rushing to view your material you take the risk to have many unsatisfied viewers due to latency or video freeze. Understandably having a page on youtube helps but YouTube will never display your products to optimize them as per your preferences and the greatest flaw is that the visitor to view your products will have to leave your website and it is the Youtube Domain who will inherit of the precious ‘clicks’ of the clients. The solution to that is not to store the material on your site but to embed it, meaning that Youtube still store the video but the latter is viewed by the visitor from your site, a watered down compromise beneficial for both. You will thus take back the control on the design which is the most effective to promote your products.

For those who by now know us, we do not follow the rules and love to proclaim that we do things differently. The logical course for any company to follow would have been to engage in a public relations campaign and damage control but the name of our company is The International Outsider where ‘Outsider’ is the key component of the equation. We suddenly and unexpectedly found ourselves confronted with an existential threat; we had a fight in front of us. If there is one thing that the International Outsider knows how to do, it is to engage in a fight. We had assets to hide or shift location, we had people to move from the positions they were into more secure ones and we had first and foremost, to ensure the livelihood of those who depend on us whether it is here in South Africa, in neighboring Zimbabwe or Seoul, Korea or where our headquarters are found in Aberdeen, Scotland. Once that was done and secure, we could move towards undoing the damage, rebuilding and ensuring that those responsible knew that we understood their role in it. As we said before, we know how to engage in a fight not because we like it, not because it ensures us some advertising but simply because we have had a lot of experience in the past and we became extremely efficient at crisis management.
